Robert Hovan is a graduate of St. Peter's University in Jersey City, New Jersey. He attended the Bergen Police Academy in Mahwah, New Jersey and then attended New Jersey City University's graduate program for Criminal Justice. He is a retired Police Captain with 25 years of police investigative experience. He has worked in such Units as the Juvenile Aid Bureau and Street Crimes as a Detective. Later on, he went on to supervise these same Units, and headed the Internal Affairs Unit and Detective Bureau as the Commander with one of the highest closure rates of investigations in Hudson County.
